Join Us at Buchla & Friends 2026
We’re heading to Downtown LA for Buchla & Friends 2026, and we’re bringing the whole family.
Hosted by our friends at Buchla, this two-day synthesizer gathering happens January 24-25 at C&I Studios, and it’s one of our favorite events of the year. Picture 80+ boutique synth makers under one roof, headphones plugged in, everyone geeking out over patch cables and waveshaping techniques. It’s the kind of event where you end up in a 45-minute conversation about filter topologies with a complete stranger, and you’re both having the time of your lives.
We’ll have the complete 3rd Wave lineup on display: the 24K keyboard, the 24M desktop module, and the compact 8M. The headphones-only format means you can really listen. No competing PA systems, no background noise. Just you and whatever sound you want to explore.
“Buchla & Friends is our kind of crowd,” said Bob Coover, co-founder and DSP designer at Groove Synthesis. “These are people who actually want to talk about how to make sounds, the signal chain in the 3rd Wave, and how to push an instrument into new territory. That’s stuff we really love.”
Why We Love This Event
The vibe is more craft fair than convention center. You’re not dealing with crowds pushing past to get somewhere else. People actually stop, put on headphones, and spend time with the instruments. We’ve had some of our best conversations about synthesis at past Buchla & Friends gatherings, whether it’s diving deep into the anti-imaging filter behavior in our PPG signal chain or just talking shop about what people are working on.
It’s also a chance to meet the people behind Groove Synthesis: Andrew Silverman and Bob Coover (only on Sunday) will both be present at Buchla & Friends to answer your questions about the 3rd Wave and everything related to Groove.

Find Us There
We’ll be set up with all three 3rd Wave models, plenty of headphones, and zero sales pressure. Bob and Andrew will both be around to talk synthesis, answer questions, or just hang out. If you’ve been curious about what the 3rd Wave can do, this is a great chance to find out. And if you already own one, swing by and say hello. We want to hear what you’re creating.
See you in LA.
