Is the 3rd Wave really the spiritual successor to the legendary PPG Wave?
Yes, and we mean that literally. The 3rd Wave’s oscillators use the same PPG-style wavetables and signal processing chain as the original PPG Wave 2.2 and 2.3, and a handful of factory presets are built with the exact combination of sample rate settings, imaging artifacts, wave flow, envelope shape, and circuit drift it takes to recreate that vintage sound directly. It’s all backed by modern analog filters and up to 24 voices of polyphony on the 24K and 24M (8 voices on the 8M).
